Combining two of my sporting passions and interests, I’m taking part in a cycle ride to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK.  Football to Amsterdam, is a two day, 140 mile bike ride from Bramall Lane, home of Sheffield United FC, to the Johan Cruijff ArenA, home of  AFC Ajax of Amsterdam.

Together with other riders we’ll be putting our football rivalries aside to tackle prostate cancer once and for all. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. It’s a disease which kills one man every 45 minutes – that’s two men during a football match. But Prostate Cancer UK know that we can turn it around. With funding raised from events such as this, Prostate Cancer UK are focusing on the development of improved early warning detection procedures for this cancer, to make this a disease the next generation need not fear.

All funds raised through sponsorship of my ride will go directly to the charity. All costs(ferry/hotels/flights etc) for this ride have already been paid by myself.
