Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I'm taking part in a 50 mile sponsored cycle from London to Cambridge - On Yer Bike 2006 - to raise money for youth community projects and other humanitarian activities in Zimbabwe, an oppressed and impoverished country with 80% unemployment. Some money may be used to pay for medical bills, school fees or food for very vulnerable people but an important and more sustainable use of the money will be supporting youth groups who have a vital role to play in keeping their communities alive, building awareness of rights and democracy, and initiating community self-help projects such as garbage collection and vegetable gardening projects to improve nutrition. Examples of what your money could do: £7 could pay for a young activist to attend a 2 day workshop on community leadership or the use of strategic non-violence to bring about change. £20 could purchase 4 permaculture kits to help 4 very vulnerable households. £55 could pay for a child to attend school for a year (government schools are no longer free in Zimbabwe and more children than ever are dropping out of school). Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
