Story
For years, scouts have enjoyed group outdoor activities on the Greenway. It has been the meeting site for various groups and a popular choice for earning service hours for rank advancement or completing badges through environmental and educational opportunities. The Greenway has been able to provide me and my fellow scouts with the tools necessary to advance and one day become Eagle Scouts. To give back, I am going to be building a campsite near the Adventure Center. This site can be a meeting spot for a family looking for a new tradition, a church group, or even our fellow Boy Scouts that want to connect with the other boys or with nature in this ever changing world.
In my campsite, I will include a fire pit, lantern posts, a firewood box, and picnic tables. This will create an environment for people to camp on the greenway and allow for people to enjoy nature but with some amenities to make their stay enjoyable. I want to create this campsite so that people can experience the true beauty of nature and explore what it has to offer.
