Story

[Updated 24-04-06]

Life should be about challenging yourself, especially when you are turning 40 as I am in 2006! So, with a little bit of encouragement from my friends, I have decided to run in the 2006 London Marathon. I have never run long distances before (and probably won't again!). In fact, up until October, I had never run more than 5k in my life!

As part of my training I competed the Silverstone Half Marathon (March 19th) in 2hrs and 7mins, and the Kingston 16 mile breakfast (April 2nd) in 2hrs and 51mins.

I have now completed the London Marathon - my time was 4 hours and 53 minutes.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: SPARKS will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your sponsorship at no cost to you.

Although I have achieved my target of £2,500 there is still time for more donations, and this page will be up between now and the end of May so please dig deep!

Many, many thanks in advance for your donations.

Ian
