Story
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
We have decided this year to put together our own four part challenge to support the St James’s Place Foundation and also a charity a little closer to our hearts. The mother of a good friend of ours lost her battle against cancer at the end of 2008. A fund has been set up in her memory, The Alma Thomas Royal Marsden Fund, to raise money to build a new ward at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London where Alma received most of her treatment. We would very much like to support this cause. Our challenge will consist of four events between June and October;Sunday 14 June 2009 St James’s Place 10k race, Cirencester
Sunday 28 June 2009 Prestwold 10k race, Nr Loughborough
Sunday 20 September 2009 Great North Run (half marathon), Tyneside Sunday 4 October 2009 St James’s Place Triathlon, St AlbansAs you will see the challenge events gradually get a little more difficult! The Triathlon will be no easy feat – a 400m swim followed by a 20 km cycle and a 5 km run! The Triathlon event has been specifically organised to support Hope and Homes for Children, a charity which is making a real difference to the lives of orphaned and abandoned children across Central and Eastern Europe and Africa.
Also, Sally’s daughter, Ellie, will be showing her support for these good causes by running in the Junior Great North Run on Saturday 19 September! 3 miles around the Newcastle Quayside!
We would be very grateful for your support.
We will keep this page updated with our progress so please remember to check on us from time to time!
Many thanks in anticipation of your support.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St James's Place Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
