Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We'll be setting off to the ancient Inca ruins of Peru's Machu Picchu on the 13th of september 2017, in honor of our sister Rowena Kincaid who passed away after her battle with cancer on 2nd September 2016. we are also doing this for any one who works at Velindre and for anyone who has been a patient there, as the work and care they provide are vital to help those battling cancer.
The trek wont be a walk in the park by any means, we'll be trekking at altitude (around 2400m), battling high humidity during the day and cold temperatures during the night, and walking for about 8-10 hours per day over mountainous terrains that are not for tourists. While battling the elements, we'll also have to keep our wits about us to ensure we don't get eaten by any native wildlife, like llamas or guinea pigs!
I feel that we can both give back to Velindre for their amazing support they provided Row. Their amazing and insanely difficult jobs can be helped by making a donation to help those who suffer with this dreadful disease, and to help fight the battle for the future.
In reading this i hope that you can find it within your heart to help us with this challenge and to help those who are in need of the care that Velindre provide by donating, and know that you will be making a difference with your support. Like the title from the Bill & Ted movie, we'd be honoring our sis and making her proud on this "excellent adventure"!
thank you :-)
