As most of you will be aware my dad (Dave Walls) was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014. My dad is still undergoing treatment for this horrible disease and will be for the rest of his life. Every year since my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer we have tried to do our bit for the charity and this year we are taking part in the " Go Dad Run" 5km prostate cancer fun run on 2nd April.
Since my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer I have learnt some interesting facts about this disease and why this is such a good cause to support.
Did you know 1 in 7 of us men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer, with figures rising.
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer after breast cancer but most common cancer in men.
Prostate cancer is the least supported cancer.
This year myself, my dad and Ollie will be taking part in the run but also Ollie's under 6 football team and their dads are getting involved. We thought it would be a great opportunity to raise money for both prostate cancer and Plains Farm Blues U6s football team to help get the kids up and running with new kit and equipment.
If you would like to make a donation to prostate cancer please do so via this page but if you would like to make a donation to the football team please do this by contacting myself or any of the teams parents so your name can be added to one of the sponsorship forms.
Please donate whatever you can as every penny will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking time to view my page.
Cheers,
Ian
