Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've known Doddie for somewhere in the region of 40 yrs from when he played goalkeeper for our boys team in Stow. Doddie was the lad from the farm at Cortleferry with the huge smile and infectious personality.
Doddie has tackled his diagnosis head on and when a lot of people could have looked solely at their own plight Doddie has looked to help the cause of all those who have received the same diagnosis.
As a player Doddie was loved by all the rugby family. Since his diagnosis and the courage he has shown in this fight I think it's fair to say that he is loved and respected by those outside the rugby family just as much now.
My beard is a huge part of who I am, it's given me confidence to be more out going and it's fair to say I get recognised quite a bit by rugby supporters because of it. I can't deny that the attention is flattering and its certainly got me a few beers.
However I have wanted to do something to raise money for the Foundation so I am going to get my beard shaved off on 12th of September. Hopefully the day when Edinburgh will play in the Pro 14 Final.
Please please please donate whatever you can to help the great man and his foundation in their fight to find a treatment and possible cure for this cruel condition.
Please share this page on your social media pages and if you are affiliated to any rugby/sporting clubs please share on their social media.
Thank you for taking time to read this and please support the Foundation on whatever way you can.
