Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, please give generously, any amount large or small can make a big difference.
I've known Rachel and Tim for many years and following the loss of their daughter, Molly to cancer at the age of 8,.they've done a brilliant job working tirelessly to set up and run Molly Olly's Wishes to help and support children with life-threatening illnesses in a number of ways:.
Wishes
A wish can help children through extremely challenging circumstances that are both physical and emotional and provide special memories for those around them. The charity provide approximately 350 wishes per year. The wishes have an average value of £500 and can be for anything and everything such medical aids, toys, shopping vouchers, electronic devices, arts and crafts etc.
Olly The Brave Packs
Olly is a therapeutic toy created by Molly Olly’s to help support children’s emotional well-being. Olly and the story of how he becomes unwell and the treatment he needs is explained in the six accompanying books. They help children to understand and share their experience. The books that have been submitted to the British Medical Association Patient Information Awards have been short listed and highly commended. These packs are donated to hospitals across the UK who give them to the children that need them.
One Off Projects
The Charity works alongside the NHS to support projects within the hospitals and the community. Molly Olly’s have funded a Consultant in Paediatric Palliative Medicine based at Birmingham Children’s Hospital for the past three years and helped to furnish Magnolia House at the hospital which has proved to be an invaluable space.
