This all started 11 years ago with two of my local clubs, Wirral Borough AC and Rivacre AC, competing for a small trophy and raising funds for Claire House. It soon became the Tri-Club challenge as a third club, Egremont Ferry AC got involved and after 4 years we'd raised £14,305.

Over the last seven years Colin & Linda Cook have taken this to another level getting even more clubs, local fisheries. local press, tackle shops and even pro anglers involved as well as organising an annual gala presentation night and with everyone's efforts last year saw another  record £21k+ raised, making it more than £127k donated in 11 years, which I'm sure you will agree is an incredible achievement!

This year the match itself is Sunday 5th November and I just want to play my part in the event that is the first date in my fishing calendar each year.

2023 will again see close to 100 angers in 12 teams competing across a number of local fisheries on the day. Match winnings from the day invariably end up being donated to Claire House and most of the local Wirral tackle shops support the event, along with some of the national fishing tackle companies, who provide outstanding prizes for the raffle and auction.

I was fortunate last year to raise close to £1500 but have set £500 this year as my target as I am always extremely grateful for the hugely generous donations from friends and acquaintances. I will again be adding my bit to the total by donating any winnings I am lucky enough to receive from fishing matches from Mid September until 5th November, so to the anglers reading this, please feel free to let me win a few bob.........it's all for a great cause!

As an added bit of spice this year I'm going to donate all the £1 side bets I manage to win against Paul Robinson, John Edwards, Steve Bithell and Steve Brew to my Claire House total.
