Story
Suzanne Shoesmith (born and known professionally as Suzanne Parsons) was truly unique.
The best mum Danny could ever have had; the most beautiful wife any man could ever be lucky enough to share 18 years with; to her family she was just “their Suzie” (no more words needed); to her friends she was always loyal and kind; to her colleagues she was supportive and encouraging.
For 25 years she was a pioneer in ensuring patients had more say in their healthcare. This came as a result of her deeply held beliefs about standing up for those without a voice or power. Proud to be a Scouser. Proud of her roots. Determined to make a difference.
And how she did that in spades.
The Maggies’s Centre near The Christie in Manchester offered us a helping hand during our darkest hour last September when Suzie was diagnosed with Stage IV bowel cancer. They provided us with practical support too - helping us deal with the horrible practicalities that are suddenly parachuted into your life like an evil incendiary device.
If you’d like to make a donation in Suzie’s memory, Danny and I would be eternally grateful. And I know all charities, particularly this relatively small one, are struggling right now due to Covid.
Our love, always...
