Story
I am taking part in the Big Walk 2017, a walking challenge on 30th June-1st July - a 50 mile circular walk starting and ending at the University and going out into the Peak District.
This year my mum, who has spent her life helping others, had a heart attack, the prompt action of the NHS staff saved her life - I am doing this for her, the NHS gave her continued life, this is my way of giving something back.
We are raising funds towards the University’s £2 million fundraising campaign for the Sheffield Scanner - a ground-breaking MRI-PET scanner facility, and the first of its kind in Yorkshire. The Sheffield Scanner will represent the next leap forward in medical and imaging research and have a crucial role for research and patients in many areas of medicine, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, heart disease,
diabetes and stroke.
Further information about the Sheffield Scanner can be found at www.sheffield.ac.uk/sheffieldscanner
So please donate to this fantastic cause which will have a terrific impact for everyone in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE BIG
WALK 2017 AND THE SHEFFIELD SCANNER CAMPAIGN
