Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 5th January 2005 two great friends of mine, Sarah and Richard Cook celebrated the birth of their super baby Amy, they realised immediately something was not right. At the age of 4 months they were told that she had an undiagnosed condition and she wouldn't live beyond 8 years old.
Lovely little Amy died at the age of three, very much loved by her Mum and Dad and those that spent time with her. Richard and Sarah were supported and specialist care through this almost unimaginable time by Acorns Hospice who provide support for children who are not expected to reach adulthood and their families, including those who are bereaved.
Sarah and Rich have organised a 100 mile canoe trip down the Wye (I reckon a p!ss up in Richard's brewery would have been easier) in August to gather family and friends together to remember Amy and raise funds! Please donate a little (or a lot!), it all counts. I can only do 3 days as I am so light-weight but still donate a stack please.
I have started my ball rolling with a couple of donations from passing on money received from up-cycling unwanted stuff and expenses for psychology experiments at Swansea Uni - (DO ask!).
It would be great if you could spread this through your Twittersphere and Facebook chums - the more the merrier
Donating through JustGiving is simple and secure, no unwanted emails or bumf. Money goes directly to Acorns. GO ON, GO ON, AW GO ON! You know you want to.
Even £1 will make a difference.
Many Thanks, Ian xx
