Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 13 & 14 March 2015 a small group of us will be walking from The Etihad Stadium, Manchester to Turf Moor, Burnley in memory of Catherine Papworth.

Catherine was diagnosed with cancer just 3 months after Ian & Catherine’s son Daniel was born in October 2008. She underwent 3 years of almost constant treatment at The Christie, before passing away in February 2012 at the age of just 42.

Despite her ordeal Catherine bore her treatment with great bravery, dignity and continued to live a very full life and her huge smile was never far from her face. She was also a fantastic mum to Daniel and was a huge inspiration to many who knew her.

Daniel is now a happy 6 year old and his favourite football teams are Burnley and Manchester City, so it is fitting that we are walking between the two grounds to raise money for The Christie. All money raised will be added to The Catherine Papworth Hope Tribute Fund and the money used for research by The Christie into colorectal related cancers.

Many thanks for your support.
