Story
A Stroke of Luck was founded by a Stroke Survivor who knows what it is like to live in a world post-stroke. My Mum's life was taken by a stroke, but from the moment she suffered the stroke until she passed away my family and I witnessed the brutality of its effects. I can only imagine what it must be like to try and recover from a stroke of any severity.
In support of those who are on their own journey to recovery, I will train for and complete an Ironman distance triathlon in Frankfurt in July 2023. I will train 6 days a week (often at 5am) to complete the full 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run consecutively and within the 17 hour time limit. This will be on top of my demanding job as a Partner and Head of Litigation at Lightfoots LLP.
A Stroke of Luck has been established to provide stroke survivors with the opportunity to access Experts' services to aid their recovery and rehabilitation. It aims to enable stroke survivors to become socially mobile by improving their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. A Stroke of Luck provides a pathway to a happier future through engaging survivors in becoming as active as possible. I will help the charity support those on their journey to recovery by embarking on my own challenging journey...to be an Ironman...
