Story
I recently became Chair of The Huracan Foundation, a UK registered charity with a global network that uses the power of football to inspire children and significantly improve their educational opportunities. Partnering with teachers from the Teach For All network, we work mainly in Latin America and Asia, providing projects and project leaders with funding, mentoring and access to our global network.
The Foundation has the support of over 66,000 followers on Facebook, many of whom are fans of the Huracan professional team in Argentina and who are thrilled that the Huracan Foundation are using the name of their club around the world to help disadvantaged children.I originally became aware of The Huracan Foundation through my son Ben playing for Huracan FC London and the charity has grown amazingly, from a Sunday morning football team.
On 24th March, we have 10 runners, completing the London Landmarks Half Marathon on behalf of the Huracan Foundation. So I am doing my own half marathon swim in support of their efforts over 7 days, starting 17th March. As probably the world's slowest swimmer and never having swum more than 2 miles, I estimate 13.1 miles will take me over 16 hours.
I would be really grateful for your support.
Thanks
Ian
