So back in June I completed the 166.4 mile cycle challenge from CTCRM to the site of the RM Museum at Eastney in just under 13 hours in aid of 'Hero's at Home' for the Royal Marines Charity. To date, with your brilliant genoristy my total stands at £1738.
Collectively the Royal Marines Association Football Club Branch have raised an amazing £4139. Our revised target is now £5000 Those directly fundraising are Jason Margrett, Lesley Vernon, Hugh Knott, Ian Pomeroy and myself.
Recently Mags and Pom completed a second challenge and Lesley is still banging out the miles on her cross trainer challenge and is on course to finish on or around the 28th October 2020.
The Hero's at Home fund raiser (Which we all come under) stands today at £76,029 aiming for £100,000.
Its quite simple. With eight weeks left until the 'Hero's at Home' fund raiser finishes and with Mags and Pom having done two events and Lesley still going I have been forced (Phil Gilby) to take up the baton again and do a second event before the 28th October.
To that end and without any further adue I am now going to cycle from RNA Gosport to CTCRM on Saturday the 24th October.
This time the light will be less, the weather will be colder, wetter and a little tougher.
I urge each and every one of you to please donate what you can to either myself, or the RMA Charity. This year has been tough on the RMA and as they say every little helps.
So Yes Ladies by very popular demand the LYCRA is back. !!!!
