Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. No really, Thankyou!
One day I realised I could run, in fact I realised I could run quite far. My new found love of leg-propelled fast forward motion led to me getting involved with the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal who I've been very happy to be able to raise money for with a string of runs, namely two half marathons and two full marathons.
However it appears mere marathons are no longer enough to impress my would-be sponsors. So to up the ante I'm going to run seven consecutive marathons, over seven days. To make up this distance I shall run from Whitehaven to Robin Hood's Bay, west coast to east coast. I shall be helped by my small but dedicated support team of two, namely my brother Tom who is the driver, and my friend Dave who is the route-planner and tracker.
I have to date managed to rack up some quite pleasing marathon times but this will be my first foray into the world of Ultra-Running. I am however looking forward to the adventure, the wild terrain, the unpredictable weather, the endorphines, the unknown.
The Cots for Tots Appeal has been set to raise money for the St Michael's Hospital in Bristol to buy in expensive, high-tech intensive care cots for prematurely born babies. The importance of these cots can not be underestimated, they literally save lives! For more information please visit their site http://www.cotsfortots.org.uk/menu-page/about/
So please make a donation, no matter how big or small, to this great casue, and think of me, blistered, tired, hallucinating and sweating my way across a rocky mountain track in horizontal rain.
I thank you kindly, and so do my feet.
