Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. My walk is for my daddy who was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer’s several years ago. Day and daily is a struggle for dad in the Nursing Home and for us as a family it is heartbreaking to see him gradually go down. Mum has been a rock for us all and although I am doing this for Dad, I am also doing it for mum as she would not be able to do the Memory Walk. 

Times are tough for us all financially but to see Dads life just disappear is killing me and if me doing this small walk can help Dad and others then I am up for it with all my heart.
