Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year Joseph Holts chosen charity is Maggie's Centres. They aim to raise a total of £50,000 during 2017 to help this amazing organisation.

Maggie’s offer free practical, emotional and social support to people living with cancer and their family and friends. Built in the grounds of specialist NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie’s Centres are warm and welcoming places, with qualified professionals on hand to offer a programme of support that has been shown to improve physical and emotional wellbeing.

It cost's on average £590,000 per year to run a Maggie's centre, of which there are 19 at present, and they are funded almost entirely by voluntary donations.

At the Lord Nelson we are aiming to raise £10,000  of the £50,000 total by various means including me and Julie travelling to Cambodia to attempt a trek to Angkor Wat.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
