In memory of Ian Haig
We empower people who are in crisis to move away from the streets for good

Story

We are taking donations in memory of Ian George Haig (21st January 1953 to 24th February 2023).

Ian Haig was a loving husband, proud father, and doting grandfather. He was a great, reliable friend to many and often went out of his way for them. He loved his family dearly. He was also a tremendously passionate engineer, being academically minded, yet practical and hands-on. He led high tech research and development and cared deeply about doing things well. Amongst many other expertise, he had decades of experience with X-ray systems, high voltage and high-power electronic vacuum devices and their electronics. He loved music and humour. Proud European, skier, dinghy sailor, master of DIY, motivating team manager, engineering talent spotter, inspirational colleague, and mentor to many.

He is much loved and will always be remembered.

About the charity

The Connection at St Martin’s is here to be with people as they recover from life on the streets and move on to meaningful, fulfilling futures and a place to call home. We work with people, not for them, and put every individual person at the centre of their recovery.
