Story

Thanks to everyone who made a donation. All monies are now complete to Maire Curie making my personal totalling £4100 (incl Tax aid)

The group made of £100, 000 just in this single trek !!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

ALL the donations go to the charity and I need to raise £3000 at least!

The Trek
This is a challenging 5 day trek along some of the 15th Century Ming Dynasty Great Wall of China from Gubeikou to Mt. Simatai. It's not at all flat (like I thought) but mostly sections of uneven steps on steep inclines and descents.

Each day will consist of 6-8 hours of walking, covering approx 12-18 kms a day. I know that doesn't sound much, but I think that is measured horizontally and does not take into account the mostly up and down nature of the wall !!

In case you were wondering, it's no luxury trip either, as we have to share tents (God, no snorers please) with no showering facilities (bowl of hot water each morning/evening). Don't even ask about the toilet arrangements !!

The Cause
Now, a little bit about this most worth while cause for those who do not know.

Marie Curie was established in 1948 and now has over 2,700 Dr's and Nurses who provide care for people who are terminally ill with cancer in either their home (if they choose) or in special hospices.

As well as your money going to helping with these fantastic services, Marie Curie also continue its own research into how best to care for the terminally ill and the fight for better preventative treatments.

For more details on the services, please do take some time out and visit http://www.mariecurie.org.uk/en-gb/who-we-are/services/
