On September 1st 2019 , I will set off from Bray Dunes on the French Channel coast near Dunkirk in an attempt to cycle the route of the French Divide ,ending in the Pyrenees in the village of Mendionne .

The route is a  1200 mile Ultra MTB bike packing adventure linking the Franco Belgian Border with the Franco Spanish Border .The route consists of  20 % on tarmac roads and the rest on gravel roads , this is a serious undertaking .The route also involves at least 20,000 m of climbing which is equivalent of climbing Mount Everest 2.5 times .

The route is entirely self supported , there are no check points , there is no support , there is no back up .If I get lost I must find my way , if my bike breaks I must fix it , if I run out of water I must deal with it .
