Story

In 1992, my cousin Dol Beag (Donald) was paralysed in a swimming accident.  Since then he has regained partial function in his hands and arms through his own hard work and the support of others.  I ask for your support so that Spinal Research can continue to support people like Dol Beag and thousands of others.  Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. Every year 1,000 people in the UK and Ireland are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord. Spinal Research receives no government funding and relies entirely on the support of the public to raise funds for its research. Because of the efforts of their supporters, they have funded innovative medical research that has achieved a number of ground breaking changes in the field.
