Story

In March 2016 I lost my lovely wife Liz to cancer. I have wanted to do something to honour her memory and this seemed the ideal way to do it, raising  money for one of Liz's favourite charities in the process.

The ride is described as "tough", averaging around seventy miles a day, with high temperatures and some testing climbs. As a keen cyclist of many years, I have been supplementing my usual training regime of eating pies and drinking beer and actually getting out on the bike for a few rides.

The cycle challenge starts in the iconic Grand Canyon and continues through high desert, forested plateaus, canyon rims, historic towns, and famous landmarks including the Route 66 highway, finishing in the spectacular city of Las Vegas three hundred and forty miles later.

I am meeting the expenses associated with the ride out of my own pocket, so every penny donated goes to the charity.

Please consider chipping with a donation to this most deserving of causes and thank you for supporting me.
