Team Legion takes on The London Landmarks Half Marathon #teamlegion

Story

Almost a century on from the end of the First World War the Royal British Legion is still helping today's Service men and women, veterans, and their families in almost every aspect of daily life.  Although the national Poppy Appeal does wonderfully it cannot fully fund the welfare requirements of the charity.

Both Georgie and I have been lucky to secure places in the first London Landmarks Half Marathon and having helped previously as part of the Poppy Appeal, the RBL seemed the right choice, having had a father and grandfathers who saw service in the Armed Forces, one of whom lived with the scars of the First World War for the rest of his life.

As we commemorate the 100th year since the end of the First World War, the RBL continues to deliver much needed support.  Whether running care homes, providing support for those suffering from Post Traumatic Stress or additional care for those still serving, it is a vital charity for our veterens and serving soldiers, sailors and airmen in need.

Our target is to complete the London Landmarks in under 1 hour 45 minutes.  A challenge for us both but knowing we will be raising money for such a worthwhile cause will spur us on.  Please donate as much as you can.
