World record fundraising attempt · 14 April 2022

We raise funds for cancer research to improve survival rates across the US.

Story

My name is Iain Ward, I'm 31, and have Brain Cancer. I was lucky and my tumor was found before I had symptoms, and so my life expectancy will be 1-5 years of relatively high quality life. With those years, I want to break the world record for fundraising as an individual in a marathon, I'm also going to try to break the record for fastest marathon dressed as a video game character at the same time. My plan is to basically start a big pyramid scheme on YouTube, and get people to spread awareness of my goal, help with funding, or ideally do both.

1 in 2 of women and 1 in 3 of men contract cancer in their lifetime, meaning everyone on earth is at least saddened by the suffering of someone close to them. Every year, progress on treatment and detections for the causes of cancer is improved. This funding will go towards the betterment of everyone's life across the world.
