I have signed up for the challenge of a life time to complete the London Marathon by securing a Golden Place running for The Stroke Association.  This charity is very close to my heart with my Dad suffering three strokes and very recently a colleague in my team also suffering a stroke at a young age.  Both my Dad and colleague are though the lucky ones as an estimated 150,000 people will suffer a stroke in the UK this year of which a third are likely to die within the first 10 days.  For the lucky ones 1/3rd recover and a 1/3rd are left disabled and needing rehabilitation.

A stoke is a brain attack caused by a clot or bleed that cuts of blood and causes brain cells to die.  It remains largely unpredictable and gives no warning and is the 3rd biggest killer in the UK.

So please help me to raise funds for this charity that supports people and families directly impacted by strokes, provides information to minimise the risk of a stroke and continues the research to prevent, treat and provide better methods of rehabilitation.
