In memory of Jordan Harden
We fund medical equipment and services to give our children the best possible care

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This page is in memory of Jordan Harden who lost his 6 year battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia recently. We are organising a charity bike and hike event in memory of him and in recognition for all the amazing charities that helped him and his family through their battle. On 17th May '12 we will start cycling from Coatbridge fire station to Fort William (120miles) and then finish off by climbing Ben Nevis (4400ft). We have a good few guys on board so far, some family, some friends, a couple of firefighters and folk who have just heard about it and want to take part. I'll be posting regularly to keep everyone up to date with our progress. If you wish to donate here, all money through this will go to Yorkhill Children's foundation. Any other money we collect through sponsor forms/charity nights etc are going to be divvied up between a few other charities one being CHAS, the other being the fire service benevolent fund as the fire service have kindly donated a van and minibus for this event. Other charities will be decided soon.

Story of Jordan- He was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia) He went through months of chemo then got a bone marrow transplant, which kept him in remission for a year, then the disease returned. He went through months of chemo again and went into remission again, which allowed him to get a second transplant, this time a stem cell. Again this worked for a year and the disease returned again. He received more chemo and went into remission but this time he couldn't manage a transplant as the amount of chemo he had it started to do damage to his insides. He was put on palletive care and and lasted on this for two years.....He had a short but full life as he went to Disneyland twice, Legoland, Callums cabin twice, a clic sargent caravan in Blackpool twice and Malcolm sargent house in Prestwick loads of times. He also got to lots of concerts and gigs.
