Story
There are approximately 86,000 people in Scotland with a diagnosis of Dementia, 2,633 of which live in Renfrewshire and 1,637 in East Renfrewshire. These figures are expected to double within the next 25 years.
Alzheimer Scotland believes that no-one should go through dementia on their own and focus on this ethos by providing great services and supports for people with dementia, their families and carers both locally and nationally.
Derek and I have decided to give ourselves a challenge throughout the month of November to try and raise funds for two local services that are close to our hearts, Alzheimer Scotland Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire Services. All funds that we manage to raise will be split equally between these two services.
So the challenge is: Derek and I will take a trip down memory lane by attempting to grow our own moustaches throughout the month of November and try and bring these back as fashionable facial accessories! We do realise that some of you may think we look a bit silly but it's a small price to pay to help raise money for such a worthy cause!
We have set a modest target of £80 as a pack of razors costs approx £10, so for the 4 weeks of November we hope to raise the equivalent of a pack of razors each per week!
We will update our photos each week so that you can see how we are getting on!
So please get behind us and help us raise some funds for Alzheimer Scotland!
