Story
In April 2017, I'm leading a team of Cisco staff and family members to Malawi for a week volunteering in support of The One Foundation's clean water programmes.
Cisco has given each employee 5 days' paid leave and we have fully funded the trip ourselves. We're using our time, energy and skills to help repair some of the country's estimated 12,000 broken water pumps.
Without clean water, communities are vulnerable to water-borne diseases like cholera and diarrhoea. Every year an estimated 2 million people die from these illnesses, most of them children under 5 years old.
The project we're supporting fixes faulty water pumps and teaches communities how to maintain and repair them, so they can deal with any future faults themselves and keep water flowing in their villages.
Please donate to support the project - ALL donations will go directly to The One Foundation.
