Story
The Salvation Army Church and Community Centre in Hythe and Romney Marsh is reaching out to the local community for its support, to help us support others, at Christmas 2021. Each Christmas we provide toys and gifts to local families in need, meals and company to those who would be on their own and food to those who are struggling to make ends meet. In addition, we seek to play an important part in the life of our community all year round through our foodbank, toddler groups, parenting courses, youth group and drop in centre.
All financial support offered this Christmastime will be put to good use in our local community.
If your monetary donation is for anything specific, such as Christmas lunch or food parcels, please do let us know in the comments.
The Salvation Army is a Christian Church & registered Charity working in 130 countries worldwide and is one of the largest and most diverse providers of social welfare in the world. In the UK and Ireland this work includes more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and community churches. We provide unconditional friendship, support and very practical help to people in crisis and need and work with children, homeless people, adult victims of modern slavery and those dealing with drug and/or alcohol addiction. In Hythe and Romney Marsh, we've been active as a Church and serving the community for nearly 125 years, including through the provision of practical support in times of need
Here's how your donations could transform lives this Christmas...£15 could pay for a food parcel to feed a family in desperate need for three days. £25 - could provide emergency practical support for a family in crisis. £50 could help keep our food banks replenished from wholesalers and local sources. £60 - could cover the cost of running three weekly parent-and-toddler groups.
