We research early diagnosis and treatments to beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

Unbelievably, It's now 18 months since Howard left us after an incredible display of courage and determination in the face of his pancreatic cancer.

Before departing he left the legacy of the Howards Way Walks. http://www.howardswaywalk.co.uk He kicked it off with the Ridgeway in 2008 and the rest of the team continued with Hadrians Wall in 2009. Between them, the team has raised in excess of £130,000 for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. www.pcrf.org.uk

As the name suggests, PCRF invests in research into this little known, under-funded area for a surprisingly common cancer with one of the highest mortality rates.

In keeping with the previous challenges, this year we will attempt the South Downs way in little more than 3 days. It is 100miles long, running between Winchester and Eastbourne so we will be aiming to do in excess of a marathon each day!

We have a fantastic team again in 2010, so please give them all the support and sponsorship that they and their mashed feet deserve.

Others will be joining for sections and specific days of the walk (forgive me for not naming them all!).

Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only national charity dedicated solely to beating pancreatic cancer through research. Survival rates are low, so new research is vital. In the past, this cancer received little attention. With your help, we can change this so more people beat pancreatic cancer.
