We care with courage to help veterans live life to the full.

Story

Classes at High Wycombe Church of England School have been communicating and supporting Royal Star & Garter homes since the High Wycombe home opened a few years ago. The children love visiting the staff and residents, sending and receiving letters/cards and supporting their fundraising and events.

This term Royal Star and Garter are running a reflect and grow campaign and have been kind enough to send us sun flower seeds so we can join in. The children will be planting their seeds and reflecting on the past year, which has been a tough time for lots of people. They will also be taking part in a sponsored walk and here's where you come in...

Royal Star and Garter provide care to veterans and their partners living with disability or dementia. In order to raise money for them, UKS2 will be walking the High Wycombe heritage trail. They decided to do this as it is structured around life in High Wycombe during the war, lots of people took to walking more during the pandemic and Captain Tom Moore famously raised money during the pandemic walking 100 lengths of his garden. He was also a British army officer whose own wife was cared for in a home for dementia.

So please dig deep everyone and support the children with their fundraising by donating anything you can!

Thank you!
