Story
Hope Valley College students are set to travel around the
world to raise money for their school’s sports equipment and facilities as well as CRY heart screening.
From Saturday 13th February as many students as possible will walk, run or bike 40,075km, the equivalent distance of travelling around the world, in 80 days or less!
That’s at least 501km a day to cover, but with 570 students going out and exercising, it works out to just under 1 km a day per student.
This PTFA challenge, supported by the PE department, is to encourage as many students as possible, either within their PE lesson or in their spare time at home, to contribute their kilometres, however small, to help the whole school achieve this distance.
The money raised will be split equally between two worthwhile
causes:
1. School sports equipment and facilities
2. CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) which provides heart screening
for students in year 10 and 11.
Please support our students in achieving this worthwhile challenge, Thankyou.
