Hi there! 

I'm Husna and I'm a 22 year old Mechanical Engineering Student at Loughborough University. This is my first major fundraising challenge. This page will be updated to show my training and any events being held to support my cause. 

THE CHALLENGE

In September 2023 I will be walking through the Jordanian Desert from Dana to Petra, with the support of Endeavours Adventures and LSU RAG. This is a week long trek that will take me through breath-taking Great Rift Valley ending at one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The trip will also include a visit to the Dead Sea and the Wadi Rum Desert (where Star Wars, Lawrence of Arabia, Dune and many other films have been shot).

THE CHARITY

Hope for Children is an international charity operating in India, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Kenya and the UK. Hope for Children believes every child has the right to a happy and healthy life. Their key areas of focus are:

❤️ Health + Wellbeing
❤️ Empowering Families - i.e. giving families the tools to support themselves 

Almost 50% of the world's children live in poverty with 4.3 million in the UK alone. The Cost of Living crisis is now seeing many children being forced to skip meals or be in unheated homes. This is incredibly close my heart as I am a private tutor for disadvantaged kids and this is a conversation I have too often with worried parents. I strongly believe no family should have to compromise on giving their child the best chance in life to succeed so I strongly urge you to donate to this page to stop this from being a reality. 

Since fundraising includes the word 'fun' I thought there should be some incentives for when targets are reached: 

25% raised - I will make teas/coffees for everyone that asks over a 3-day period

50% raised - I will complete a half marathon on a rowing machine (13.1 Miles/21.1 km)

100% raised - I will wear fancy dress for a week or the highest donor can choose my outfits
