Story
I am running the GNR on the 16 of September in memory of a little girl from south shields called Maisie Eleanor Graham who on the 15 May 2011 at aged just 2 years was tragically taken from her loving and devoted parents due to Meningococcal Septicaemia, an aggressive form of Meningitis.
I did not have the pleasure of ever knowing Maisie and as of yet have never met her parents but having 2 beautiful children of my own I can’t begin to imagine how it must feel to lose a child in such tragic circumstances and at such a young age?
Although my knowledge of the disease if very limited Meningococcal Septicemia is a cruel disease which too often robs families of that that is most precious which is why I have used my son Harrison as the photo on my justgiving page not only to inspire me to complete the run but to also inspire you to donate in helping raise funds for the Meningitis Foundation to conduct research and create awareness to improve survival rates as well as providing support to those affected by Meningitis.
