The Next event will be in April 2023.

This event will be another physical event and another 3 members will be running the length of the Kennet and Avon Canal from Bath to Newbury in under 14h. The total distance being completed will be 55 miles and that is around 110.000 steps each. More to follow.

(March event delayed, Due to unforeseen circumstances)  

March event will be a physical event and will take 3 members to the hights of 29,030 feet to the virtual top of Mount Everest, this will be completed using a step machine and they will work as a team to achieve this goal. What does this look like, well it should take the team approximately 10hours to complete and will see them scaling 3,871 flights of stairs and walking over 58,070 steps in total.  

This JustGiving Page is for Hungerford Lodge 4748, and is managed by the charity Steward. This allows members to participate in the Regular Payment Plan (RPP) Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

This years chosen charity from WM Andrew Whatson-Smith is Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

What are the basic facts of MND?

With motor neurone disease, known as MND, messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles. This leads the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste, which can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. Some people also get changes to their thinking and behaviour, but the disease affects everyone differently. Not all symptoms will affect everyone, or in the same order. Symptoms also progress at varying speeds, which makes the course of the disease difficult to predict.

MND is life-shortening and there is no cure. Although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life.

How many people are affected?

MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime. It can affect adults of any age, but is more likely to affect people over 50.
