Story
Who?
Humphrey Bodington is raising money and awareness for @headforchange, a charity that is helping athletes with their futures following repeated head trauma which can ultimately cause chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) - a neurological disorder that has symptoms akin to Alzheimer’s.
Why 200?
One of the largest studies in the field, published in the Lancet in 2018, reviewed 2.7 million health records and showed that a head injury could put you at 22% increased chance of dementia over the age of 50. 5 head injuries was associated with a 200% greater risk of dementia. Hence the 200 challenge.
200 of what?
The Challenge starts on 22nd April and involves a 200kg Squat & Deadlift and running 14 marathons in 7 days/ within 200 hours. The route purposefully links together 10 stadiums and finishes at the Army vs Navy match at Twickenham stadium (30th April) 200 hours later.
