The project has been pushed back to 2021 due to the current environment of the pandemic. 

I am a nursing student that is taking part in the 2021 Global Health Leadership Project for Selfless. This will be my first year taking part in the project but Selfless has been doing these projects for the last 11 years. I will be traveling to Bangladesh with fellow medical students in July to provide health care to people. The people that will be receiving the treatment may have never been exposed to any healthcare and this may be the first time they will receive any type of care or treatment. 

To take part in the project I have to fundraise £1000. Your donation will be used for the projects that Selfless is currently running. Your donation will not be used for flights. Donations made to Selfless will be towards providing care for the people in Bangladesh. This will be my first time working with Selfless and doing charity work abroad. I have regularly volunteered from a young age and have worked with my local community. I have applied for this project to push myself and to help people in the rural community of Bangladesh. Please help me reach my target of £1000 by donating !!!

Selfless is going to have 3 projects running this 2021. The three projects help a wide range of people in Bangladesh, as Selfless has provided 30,000 people with free healthcare attention since 2009. The three projects that Selfless is currently running is the Upahar, A brush with kindness and Porishkar.  

The first project is called Upahar. The project provides care to new mothers with care bundle for the newborn. The bundle has everything you need for the first 8 days of life.

The second project is called A brush with kindness. This project is attending primary school to educate the importance of brushing their teeth and maintaining oral hygiene. Selfless will also provide the children free toothbrushes to maintain their hygiene. 

The third project is called Porishkar. This project is to provide a cataract surgery service in rural villages. Selfless supports people that are jobless due to having lost their eyesight due to cataract. Your donation will help to fund patients to have the procedure. Helping them to get their job back and start earning for their families.
