Story
Many of you will already have heard, but it is with much shock and sadness to update everybody that Hugh died last Friday 8th May 2020, after losing his battle with heart and kidney failure due to an underlying genetic condition: FH (Familial hypercholesterolaemia).
Everyone who knew Hugh will know he was the best of friends to many. His passing will leave a void and the world will be poorer in his passing. In life Hugh left no stone unturned whether it was running a pub, running a scout troop, working with his colleagues or building a Lego model. He was committed in everything he put his hand to and most of all in relationships and friends. Whilst Hugh had this condition it never stopped him giving a 100% in everything he did in just being Hugh.Claire, Adam and Guy are looking to promote awareness and understanding of the condition FH (Familial hypercholesterolaemia) with hope that his will help others.
If anybody would like to learn more please go to www.heartuk.org.uk Any donations will go to further research and a hopeful screening programme. They would also like to thank the cardiac units at Cheltenham General and Gloucester Royal Hospitals for their care and professionalism while looking after Hugh. Their attention throughout gave huge comfort.
Hugh’s funeral will be held on Friday 29th May in Cheltenham. Sadly it will be a small gathering given the current situation within the UK. A memorial will be arranged later for all to attend and to celebrate our great friend. This page has been created on Claire's behalf but she will see all your messages.
