Story
50 at 50 for Colorectal Cancer Prevention
My friend and former co-resident Mike Burdulis is turning 50. To commemorate this milestone, he decided to raise awareness about colorectal cancer to raise funding to help prevention and early detection of colorectal cancer. He is running a 50 K on Sept 11 to honour his brother. His good friend and colorectal surgeon, Justin Maykel is playing 50 holes of golf. This initiative will expand awareness and education that will help prevent patients from developing colorectal cancer.
I've joined the effort! To honour my wife Laura who was diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year (she is doing ok), I am going to bike 53 miles (to match my age) on Sept 11, and then since that does not equal a 50 K run (or 50 holes of golf) I will repeat it on Sept 12.
I need your pledge for my 106 miles - maybe a $ a mile? More, less - it all counts. We can diagnose this disease earlier and treat it better.
Thanks for supporting us.
