In the year I've been with VSO, I've been knocked sideways by the amazing and impactful work of our projects, in some of the most deprived communities in Africa and Asia.
Our unique approach of using volunteers, whether they are from the UK or from countries around the world, and working with local partners, is making a measurable and lasting difference to people's lives.
VSO is saving babies' lives in Ethiopia. It's helping communities rebuild after the devastating earthquakes in Nepal. It's improving literacy in Tanzania. And so on, and so on!
VSO's work has become very personal and meaningful to even cynical old me...
That's why, on 23 July at Cambridge Airfield, I'll be taking a leap into the unknown with my first ever sky dive, and that's why I humbly ask that you consider donating towards what I'm told is a relatively modest fundraising target, but which feels ludicrously daunting right now...
