Story
Why Jesuit Missions? Jesuit missions is a charity that is very close to my heart. My four brothers and I were all educated by the Jesuits at Stonyhurst and afterwards Jesuit Missions sponsored me to work in an old peoples' rehabilitation centre in Tokyo which was a truly life-changing experience caring for underprivileged elderly men and women.
They also sponsored my brother Harry to work with street children in Bombay and at a school in Gujarat, my sister Anna to teach at a school in Buenos Aires and my younger brother Edwin to teach in Uganda. As well as the charitable projects that they run all over the world and the great opportunities that they give to young British adults to support their work, Jesuit Missions also raise an enormous amount of money for disaster relief; for example they recently raised £176,000 to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
I’m running the London Marathon because I want the opportunity to give something back to Jesuit Missions so they can continue to support such worthwhile causes. My employer, Bluebay Asset Management, have generously offered to match any donations so I would be grateful for even the smallest contributions.
