Sponsored Fire Walk

On Thurs 7th April 2011 I will be stripping off the socks, exposing my stinky plates of meat and casually strolling/striding quickly (more than likely the latter) across hot coals to raise money for Simon on the Streets, a charity who help homeless people in Leeds and Huddersfield. I am looking to raise at least £150, but obviously I reckon you can help me reach a lot more than that ;o)
The event is happening on Thurs 7th April at The Faversham in Leeds (map - http://bit.ly/i2SqC2), so feel free to come down and watch. It’ll probably be the fastest you’ll ever see me move. Please bring lotion.
I really appreciate any amount you can donate. The folks who rely on the good work done by Simon on the Streets, however, will appreciate it a whole lot more.

About Simon on the Streets
Simon On the Streets is a registered charity that focuses on homeless people with a history of rough sleeping in Leeds and Huddersfield. They offer street based services to people with complex support needs who are not getting a service elsewhere. Through their team of support workers and their dedicated volunteers they aim to offer the necessary support to encourage people to access the services they desperately need to begin to make some positive changes in their lives.
The success of Simon on the Streets is reliant on them being able to work at the pace of each individual service user. They are committed to working with people no matter how long it takes for them to make some sustainable, positive changes to their life, and until they have no need for support services. Public funding will not allow Simon On the Streets to work in this way because of the time constraints that would be put on them. They have therefore taken on the challenge to fund and complete their vital work to support some of society’s most vulnerable people, without the use of government funds.
