We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Hi guys, thanks for taking the time to visit our teams JustGiving page.

There are five of us who are friends and colleagues taking part in Tough Mudder 2018 in Scotland and trying to fundraise for a really worthwhile cause.

Matt Taylor, Hannah Davidson, Greg Murray, Jack Workman and Adam Hill.

A little bit about the charity for those of you not quite sure what Diabetes UKs vision is:

Our vision is a world where diabetes can do no harm. Diabetes affects more people than any other serious health condition in the UK. More than dementia and cancer combined. That means we need to take action now.

Because we’re the leading UK charity for people affected by diabetes it’s our responsibility to lead the fight against the growing crisis. And this fight is one that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together.

One of our members Greg is a Type 1 Diabetic and has been since childhood, growing up with Diabetes made things a lot different for him. He knows the struggles and hardships that children go through when they are first diagnosed and the fear both they and their parents will experience of the unknown. As he has gotten older he's realised that having Diabetes isn't the curse that he once thought it was. It's actually had a very positive affect on his life. Hopefully our contribution to the charity helps provide the support for children they need in the early stages of diagnosis.
