Story
Haverfordwest U7's are a vibrant and busy rugby team in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. During lockdown we wanted to use our daily exercise to ensure the fitness and wellbeing of our players and their families, but felt we could also use the time to raise money for a very important local charity. The coaches had the idea of setting a small challenge, however due to the encouragement of the U7's 'family', the idea has escalated to travelling the 6 Nations tour route! A total of 3436 miles to be completed in 28 days. Lots of little legs walking, pedalling, scootering to contribute to this team effort.
Having seen first hand the wonderful work of the Paul Satori foundation, we felt this was the charity to support in our fundraising challenge.
PSF was initiated in May 1981 by a group of Father Paul Sartori’s parishioners, a much loved local priest, who died at the age of 38 in 1980. The Foundation was set up as Father Sartori had recognised a need for hospice care in Pembrokeshire, but unfortunately he became ill himself and died from cancer before the Foundation was formed. Despite these origins, PSF has no religious affiliations and services have always been available to all, its mission is "to provide sustainable services which promote good end of life care in Pembrokeshire"
