Story
Welcome to our JustGiving page and thanks for taking the time to take a look.
We are a team of Hoyer employees taking part in a cycle challenge in South Africa in 2017. The idea originated in November 2015 when Transaid were invited to attend a Hoyer event and after we were shown examples of some of the amazing work Transaid does we were all compelled to get involved in any way possible.
The Hoyer Team consists of:
Paul Noble, Operations Manager
Duygu Bayrakci, Operations Manager
Matthew Cox, Fleet Engineer
Mark Jepson, SHEQ and Compliance Manager
As you may already know, Transaid focuses on three core areas: Transport Management, Community Managed Transport and Professional Driver Training. In particular they are concerned with healthcare, livelihoods and road safety.
Here’s a short video on their Professional Driver Training Programme in Tanzania:

What really got the four of us interested was the incredible life saving implementation of the bike ambulance. A seemingly simple idea with revolutionary results, well worth a watch:

This is not the first time that Hoyer has supported Transaid. One of our Driver Trainers, Chris Hill from Hythe, is currently on a placement in Malawi, supporting Transaid (Hoyer Petrolog UK's chosen Charity) and is compiling a blog via Facebook so that others can follow his journey. You can find details by clicking on the linkbelow and we would encourage you to like his page:
