Story

On 1st July this year, my dad (Mick Howley) my brother (Rhys Howley) and I will be attempting to complete the Yorkshire three peaks challenge. The challenge involves a 25 mile hike around and to the summits of the three tallest mountains in Yorkshire.

We will be doing this for a cause very close to our hearts; the BAC/O'Conner Centre. This is a business solely funded on charitable donations and fundraising. until recently they did have government funding however since this was cut, the centre has been forced to close one of its two rehabilitation centres.

The BAC/O'Conner Centre provides a 16 week rehabilitation program for those affected by addiction and dependency. This is a cause close to us as, believe it or not, both of my parents (including my dad who is going to be doing the challenge with us) have been through the service. We feel that without this program we would not only have lost one of our parents, but both of them.

The BAC/O'Conner Centre have given us our family back and so we want to return the favour so that they can continue with the great work that they do. We also want to attempt to erase some of the stigma associated with addiction, as it is not generally seen as an illness to those who have not been touched by it.

So, dig deep and please, please, please help us give something back...although what we raise will never be enough, family is priceless.

Thankyou!
