Story
Our youngest son, Liam, was at University in London in 2020. He had been at home with us for the lockdown and kept getting treated for an ear infection and being generally unwell... On returning to London in the September he became very unwell very quickly and was diagnosed a couple of weeks later with Hodgkins Lymphoma - stage three advanced disease. Needless to say it was, and continues to be life changing.
Over the last year Liam has been on a gruelling chemo journey and, back in July of this year was told he is in remission with no sign of disease. Amazing!
As a young person he has been, and still is very much supported by a fantastic team at Treliske Hospital in Truro. The Teenage Cancer Trust also provided support in ways that we didn't think of at the time - such as a grant for parking at the hospital or travel. It's the practical things that many families don't think of at emotional times and, for a struggling family, it can make a huge amount of difference.
Because of these amazing people we are eternally grateful that Liam is very much alive and still with us. This year we intend to celebrate a GOOD cancer story, very grateful to all that we can be together this Christmas, celebrating as a family and raising as much money as we possibly can for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
